The California Pioneers of Santa Clara County was established in 1875. It is one of the two oldest pioneer societies in California. The California Pioneers of Santa Clara County was formed with about 400 members. We are proud to state today, after about 140 years, we still have more than 400 members.
To promote, preserve, and celebrate the history of Santa Clara County and the heritage of its past generations. We collect, archive, and educate; and encourage research and scholarship.
Maintaining and conducting tours of the Paulson House Museum at History San Jose and the Roberto Adobe and Suñol House.
Preserving our artifacts, ephemera, photographs, film, art, and furnishings.
Protecting and caring for our historic Hacienda Cemetery (which is on the
National Register of Historic Landmarks).
Utilizing modern technology for educational outreach, including the Pioneers Film Archive, Historic Essay Contest, and Mary Lou Lyon Research Library
